Ward off the winter blues and keep pesky colds at bay by enriching your diet with all of the fresh, vibrant, vitamin-rich produce your immune system could ever possibly want. Whether you’re feeling the warning of a scratchy throat, craving the seasonal treats, or just battling a typical sweet tooth, one of the smoothies below has got you covered. They’re great both for your body and for your tastebuds, and counter the common idea that smoothies fall out of season during the winter.

1) Black Forest Smoothie

This smoothie is a healthy take on a classic and delicious dessert.

For one smoothie, combine 1 cup frozen cherries, 1–2 Medjool dates, 1/4 cup of rolled oats, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1 cup unsweetened almond milk in a blender. For an optional extra health kick, add in a scoop of your favorite protein powder or a handful of spinach. Blend and serve. Top with a cherry and a sprinkle of chopped dark chocolate if desired.

2) Winter (Fruit) Green Smoothie

Grapes? In a smoothie? You bet! It might be cold outside, but with this refreshing and citrus-y beverage, you’ll almost be convinced that you’re lounging by the pool.

To make one serving, combine 1 cup frozen green grapes, 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple, 1 cup chopped kale (with stems removed), 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger, and 1 teaspoon ground flax seed in a blender. Blend, adding 1–2 of water or orange juice to adjust consistency. Pour, garnish with a pineapple wedge, and enjoy!

3) Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake

This smoothie combines tradition winter flavors with a less traditional way of consuming them.

For one serving, combine 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree (not pie filling), 1 teaspoon of honey or agave nectar, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, 1 medium banana, and 6 ice cubes into a blender. Blend until smooth and serve. If the consistency isn’t frosty enough for you, try freezing the banana beforehand.
